Armenia’s exports to Germany have surged by nearly 80 percent in the first eight months of 2025, marking a record high and underscoring the growing strength and diversification of Armenia’s economy. Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced the figures during his official visit to Berlin, where he highlighted Germany’s expanding role as one of Armenia’s key European trade partners.
“In the first eight months of this year, Armenia’s exports to Germany increased by more than 77 percent, reaching 71.4 million U.S. dollars. In the same period last year, it amounted to just 40.4 million dollars. Moreover, in the first eight months of this year, we have already exported more to Germany than during the entire previous year. This is important for ensuring the diversification of Armenia’s economy,” Papoyan said in a statement on his official Facebook page.
According to Armenia’s Statistical Committee (Armstat), exports to Germany in 2024 totaled 63.6 million U.S. dollars. In the first eight months of 2025, Armenia’s total foreign trade turnover with Germany amounted to 297.3 million dollars, marking a 5.3 percent decline compared to the same period last year. While exports grew by 77.4 percent to 71.39 million dollars, imports from Germany decreased by 17.4 percent to 225.9 million dollars.
Papoyan also announced that on October 29 he will meet with more than 40 German businessmen to present the opportunities offered by Armenia’s economy and investment environment.
A meeting with the German Federal Minister of Agriculture, Alois Rainer, is also planned. The Armenia-Germany Intergovernmental Commission meetings will begin in Berlin on October 30, with the Armenian side chaired by Gevorg Papoyan.
