NewsU.S. Says It Will Continue To Push Armenia & Azerbaijan To Make "Some Difficult Choices & Tough Compromises" To "Resolve Final Differences" To Reach Peace Agreement

The United States has stated that it will continue to push Armenia and Azerbaijan to make “some difficult choices and tough compromises” to “resolve final differences” in negotiations for a bilateral peace agreement, said U.S. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller at a press briefing on Monday, when asked about Armenia-Azerbaijan peace talks..

“A peace agreement between those countries would mean so much for those countries and it would mean so much for the region ” for peace, stability, for security in the region. We do think a deal is possible, but it requires both sides to make some difficult choices and tough compromises, and so what we’re going to do is continue to push them to resolve those final differences and reach an agreement,” said Miller, without elaborating further.

The spokesperson stated that there is “no agreement yet,” but the U.S. is “not going to rest until we reach one,” as Yerevan and Baku have made “incredible progress and have come a long way.”
