Yerevan-based ROQ Capital has launched ROQ Markets, a new AI-powered investment app that lets users in Armenia open an investment account and gain immediate access to international financial markets, reports Zartonk Media. The app’s built-in artificial intelligence tool helps users track market trends.
ROQ Capital launched the app on Monday, October 5, and said it combined more than 30 years of experience in Armenia’s investment sector with modern technology. The AI tool is designed to help investors sort through market information, track important trends and make more informed investment decisions, the company said. Users ask the assistant questions and explore investment ideas in a chat inside the app.
Through the app, users can buy U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) from their phones, including shares traded on exchanges such as Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange. ROQ Capital says the app offers more than 14,000 securities and trading 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Users can buy fractional shares down to 1/1000th of a share, so they can invest in higher-priced stocks without paying for a whole share. New users can practice with $100,000 in virtual funds before switching to a real investment account. The company lists bonds and options as coming soon.
“ROQ Markets is designed to make the investment process simpler, more convenient and more efficient. We have brought together access to international markets, digital services and AI-powered tools for analyzing information on a single platform, helping users navigate the market more quickly and make more informed investment decisions,” said Aram Kayfajyan, CEO of ROQ Capital.
The company said information from the app, including its AI tool, is for general informational and analytical purposes and does not constitute personalized investment advice.
The app has no monthly subscription. Each trade costs 0.15 percent of its value or $0.015 per share, whichever is higher, with a $1 minimum, according to the company. Additional fees may apply for currency exchange, deposits and withdrawals, along with U.S. regulatory fees on stock sales.
The account application typically takes 10 minutes to complete, and accounts are activated within 1 business day once all documents are provided, the company says. Accounts are funded by bank transfer.
U.S. securities transactions are handled through a U.S. broker-dealer that is a member of SIPC. If the broker fails, SIPC may protect eligible customer securities and cash up to $500,000, including a $250,000 limit for cash. SIPC does not protect against market losses. The app also uses two-factor authentication, end-to-end encryption and mandatory identity verification.
Beyond the app, ROQ Capital’s brokerage serves individual and corporate clients on more than 10 exchanges. These include the London Stock Exchange, Börse Frankfurt and exchanges in Japan, Hong Kong, mainland China, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
Founded in 1994 as Armbrok, the company holds investment company license No. 10 from the Central Bank of Armenia, issued in 2008. It unveiled the ROQ Capital name in Yerevan on April 29 and announced the app at the time. Kayfajyan has led the company since 2004.
In March 2025, Fitch Ratings rated the company, then still Armbrok, B- with a stable outlook, calling it the market leader among Armenian investment firms with around 10,000 clients. The company says Fitch revised the outlook to positive in March 2026.
ROQ Markets is available on the App Store and Google Play, with more information at roqcapital.am.
