HomelandOver 2,100 Armenians returned to Artsakh today from Armenia with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers.

Over 2,100 refugees, accompanied by Russian peacekeepers, returned to Stepanakert from Armenia in a day, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday, per Sputnik Armenia.

In particular, the buses proceeded from Yerevan to the main square of Stepanakert, delivering 2,115 people to Nagorno-Karabakh. The convoy’s movement was accompanied by patrols of Russian peacekeepers and military police.

“The safety of the movement of buses across the contact line for the return of civilians to their homes in Stepanakert was ensured by Russian military personnel,” the statement says.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the first step to overcome the current crisis is the return of the Karabakh people to their homes. “Artsakh becomes Artsakh thanks to the Artsakh resident there. The residents of Artsakh must return to their homes. Armenia will do everything for this. All conditions for a better life will be created in Artsakh. Everything that has been destroyed will be restored. Social, educational and scientific projects will be implemented. “, – said Pashinyan. According to him, Russian peacekeepers are deployed there to ensure their safety.
