The Golden Globe Foundation has elected Raffi Boghosian, the Armenian producer, journalist and television host, as President of its Board of Directors.
“I’m honored to share that I have been elected President of the Golden Globe Foundation,” said Boghosian on social media, adding “I’m grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me, and I look forward to serving the Foundation, supporting its mission, and making a positive impact.”
Boghosian joined the Foundation’s board in August 2025, elected to a three-year term alongside French-Tunisian reporter Ramzy Malouki and entertainment attorney Bianca Goodloe. He succeeds Adam Tanswell as President and now serves with Treasurer Vera Anderson and Secretary Patricia Danaher. The rest of the board is made up of correspondents reporting for outlets in Italy, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Ireland, France and Tunisia, alongside independent members drawn from law, publicity and marketing.
The organization Boghosian inherits traces back to 1943, when a group of Los Angeles-based foreign correspondents formed the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association under the motto “Unity Without Discrimination of Religion or Race.” The group handed out the first Golden Globes in January 1944 and later became the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Its grantmaking has supported Martin Scorsese’s Film Foundation, the USC School of Cinematic Arts, the Committee to Protect Journalists, the American Film Institute and the Sundance Institute, and the Foundation says it and the HFPA have donated more than $55 million over three decades.
The Golden Globe Foundation was created in 2023 to carry on that philanthropic work after the HFPA dissolved on June 12, 2023 and sold the awards and its intellectual property to Eldridge Globes, LLC. The Golden Globes are now run by Dick Clark Productions, which became part of Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Todd Boehly’s Eldridge, in a 2024 acquisition. The Foundation itself is governed by a nine-member board. Up to 6 directors are elected from among its members and at least 3 are independent, with one-third of the board elected each year and the officers chosen annually by the directors. Its 2025-26 grants program distributed $3 million across 86 organizations.
Boghosian was born in Iraq in 1990 to an Armenian family and raised in Syria and then Jordan before settling in Los Angeles. He finished high school at the Oxford Schools and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of La Verne. Boghosian started in television as a teenager, working as a correspondent for the Dubai-based MBC Group, and founded Boghos Entertainment at 21. The Hollywood company services the broadcast industry across the Middle East and North Africa, and he created and hosts Raffi Talks, a weekly program running across television and digital platforms. Boghosian also serves as Hollywood correspondent for Al Arabiya, writes for Forbes Middle East and Arab News, and is a member of the Critics’ Choice Association.
