Today, the U.S Embassy in Armenia & the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan both issued security alerts to its own citizens urging them to take the following precautions.
As Zartonk Media was informed from the press service of the U.S Embassy in Armenia, the statement runs as follows,
The U.S. Embassy in Armenia urges U.S. citizens to maintain vigilance and exercise caution due to heightened tensions and recent violence along portions of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. The U.S. Embassy in Armenia urges U.S. citizens to avoid travel near the line of contact and the border, including the area to the east of the M4 and M16 Highways north of the Dilijan National Park and up to the border with Georgia in Tavush province. Do not travel to the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The U.S. Embassy encourages U.S. citizens to monitor local news reporting. The Embassy will continue to monitor the security situation and provide additional information as needed.
Actions to Take: Monitor local media for updates, avoid crowds, avoid demonstrations, notify friends and family of your safety and to be aware of your surroundings.

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan urges U.S. citizens to reconsider non-essential travel outside of the Absheron Peninsula due to heightened tensions and recent violence along portions of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. The U.S. Embassy in Baku has instructed U.S. Embassy employees and their family members not to travel outside of the Absheron Peninsula.
U.S. citizens throughout Azerbaijan are encouraged to continue to monitor local news reporting for any new developments. The U.S. Embassy encourages U.S. citizens to exercise caution in public spaces and avoid any public demonstrations that develop. The Embassy will continue to monitor the security situation and provide additional information as needed.
