Armenia has begun building its first professional racing circuit near the city of Yeghvard. The large-scale motorsport project is designed to strengthen motorsport and motorcycle racing in the region, reports Sportaran.
Construction began several months ago. The karting track is named after Daniel Dallakyan, and the official opening is scheduled for May 2026, while full completion of all project stages is expected by 2028.
The track will be 1,688 meters long and will feature 17 corners (10 right-hand and 7 left-hand turns). With a track width of 8–10 meters, it will be able to host races in multiple categories. The project is designed for the operation of GT3-class cars, passenger cars, motorcycles, and go-karts.
Special attention is being paid to compliance with international requirements, with the circuit being built in accordance with FIA standards. This will make it possible to host official competitions, as well as obtain FIA licenses required for participation in professional racing.
An autosport academy is also planned within the complex. Young Armenian drivers will be able to train there under the guidance of European specialists, which is expected to open real opportunities for them to compete in championships in Europe and the United States.
The new racetrack is intended not only to develop motorsport in Armenia, but also to increase the country’s tourist appeal by attracting international competitions and sporting events.
Daniel Dallakyan is a 16-year-old professional karting driver and an F4 racer from Spain. He was born in Valencia (Spain), but represents Armenia in international competitions. With his direct involvement, the first professional racing circuit in Armenia, named in his honor, will soon open.
