AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School Acquires New Property to Support Strategic Expansion

NewsDiasporaAGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School Acquires New Property to Support Strategic Expansion

On August 13, the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) and AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School (AGBU MDS) in Canoga Park, California, announced a major milestone: the purchase of a commercial property located directly across the street from the AGBU MDS campus. As the school enters its 50th anniversary year, this strategic acquisition represents a significant step in its long-term vision for growth, academic excellence, and the creation of state-of-the-art learning environments for its Preschool through 12th grade programs.

AGBU MDS has long maintained a strong reputation in the community, with consistently high demand for enrollment resulting in a growing waiting list and some prospective students being turned away each year due to limited space. This has made the need for expansion more urgent than ever.

“This new property allows us to dream bigger. We are deeply committed to offering a high-quality Armenian-American education to as many students as possible, and this expansion brings that goal within reach,” said David Ghoogasian, Head of School at AGBU MDS.

The acquisition of the new property will provide the long-term potential to accommodate more students and programs, further enhancing the academic and extracurricular offerings for which AGBU MDS is known. Plans for redevelopment are in the early stages, with additional details to be shared as they become available.

“As we celebrate 50 years of educational excellence, this expansion stands as a symbol of our continued growth, resilience, and commitment to the future of our students and our community,” said Kevork Zoryan, Chair of the AGBU Western Region.
