Bozar, an Armenian-owned restaurant, nestled in the famous Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, has been recognized as one of the world’s best restaurants, securing the 63rd position in the extended “51-100″ list in the UK’s “World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024,” reports The Brussels Times.
Karen Torosyan, the esteemed Armenian chef and owner of Bozar, was awarded his second Michelin star last year, a testament to his culinary excellence and innovation.
Every year, the ranking ” compiled by 1,080 independent culinary experts such as chefs, food journalists, and restaurateurs ” lists the 100 best restaurants in the world. The restaurant rankings are published in two batches: first, those in 51st to 100th place, then the 50 best released about two weeks later. Although commonly referred to as the ‘World’s 50 Best Restaurants,’ the rankings are part of a broader list that extends to feature the top 100 dining establishments globally. The inclusion of Bozar in this extended section underscores its international acclaim and exceptional culinary offerings.
The menu at Bozar continues to offer New Belgian cuisine, crafted by the artisans with whom Torosyan has built his reputation.
On social media, the restaurant announced that it made it onto the ranking: “I have no words, this is just unbelievable!”
In addition to its new ranking, last year Bozar was awarded two Michelin stars and received a notable 17/20 rating from the Gault et Millau gastronomic guide. Bozar is the only Belgian restaurant in 2024 to be included in this extended ranking and is one of 12 new entries located in 11 different cities, including Berlin, Mumbai, Seoul, and Sydney.
