Armenian-American Nicholas Sahakian has earned the top spot as the number one 285lbs wrestler in his weight class in the United States for the upcoming year, according to the latest MatScouts National Rankings.
Fresh off his national runner-up finish at the U.S. Open U20 Freestyle tournament, Sahakian continues to make his mark in the wrestling world. He is also ranked as the 14th pound-for-pound best wrestler in the country, showcasing his skills across weight classes.
Sahakian is a student at St. John Bosco High School (SJBHS), a Salesian, all-boys college preparatory high school located in Bellflower, California. Looking ahead, he has committed to Arizona State University (ASU) back in 2023, where he will continue his wrestling career at the collegiate level.
