NewsArmeniaArmenia Sets First-Quarter Tourism Record With 453,138 Visitors, Up 18.2% From 2025

Armenia welcomed 453,138 tourists during the first three months of 2026, setting a new record for the first quarter (January-March) in Armenia’s tourism history, representing an 18.2% increase, or more than 70,000 additional visitors, compared to the same period last year, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced in a video on Facebook.

The strong start to 2026 follows continued tourism growth in 2025, when Armenia recorded more than 2.26 million tourist visits, up from nearly 2.21 million in 2024, a 2.5% increase.

In January, Papoyan announced that more than 139,000 tourists visited Armenia in December 2025, making it the country’s best December ever.

Looking ahead, Lusine Gevorgyan, head of the Tourism Committee, projected that Armenia could host at least three million visitors annually over the next five years, roughly matching the country’s population, and that the number could rise to five million per year within a decade.
