Armenian gymnast Hamlet Manukyan won gold in the pommel horse final at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, scoring 14.800 points to finish ahead of Kazakhstan’s Zeinolla Idrissov and Nariman Kurbanov, who both scored 14.566.
Manukyan’s victory came one year after he also won gold in the same event at the Cairo World Cup stage. Fellow Armenian Mamikon Khachatryan, who had topped qualification, finished fourth in the final with 14.533.
Armenia’s second medal of the competition came in the rings final, where Artur Avetisyan earned silver with a score of 14.300. Greece’s Olympic champion Eleftherios Petrounias took gold with 14.366, while China’s Liu Yang won bronze with 13.866. Artur Davtyan finished fourth with 13.833.
Olympic silver and bronze medalist, world champion, and three-time European champion Artur Davtyan will compete in the vault final on Monday.
The Cairo competition marked Avetisyan’s second medal of the 2026 World Cup series, after previously winning gold in Cottbus. For Manukyan, the title came after he placed seventh at the first World Cup stage in Cottbus.
