Armenia to Get Direct Flights to the United Kingdom and Netherlands as Wizz Air and FlyOne Armenia Launch New Routes in 2026

NewsArmeniaArmenia to Get Direct Flights to the United Kingdom and Netherlands as Wizz Air and FlyOne Armenia Launch New Routes in 2026

Armenia will gain new direct nonstop air connections to both the United Kingdom and the Netherlands in 2026, as Wizz Air launches Yerevan–London flights starting June 12, 2026, and FlyOne Armenia begins operating the Yerevan–Amsterdam–Yerevan route starting April 1, 2026, reports Zartonk Media.

Wizz Air’s Yerevan–London service will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, with tickets available on the airline’s website and mobile application starting from $48.99, while FlyOne Armenia’s Amsterdam flights will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, according to “Armenia” International Airports CJSC.

British Airways previously operated direct London–Yerevan–London flights three times a week, starting in 2003, having first established services to Armenia in 1997. The airline stopped operations in 2012 due to low profitability.

Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan welcomed the launch as a significant step in expanding ties between Armenia and the United Kingdom and part of the government’s broader aviation development policy.

“This is an important step toward expanding connections between Armenia and the United Kingdom. I am confident that this new route will open up new opportunities for citizens and also boost tourism,” Khudatyan said, adding that the government will continue to support initiatives aimed at improving transport accessibility and international cooperation.

Anastasia Novak, Corporate and Sustainability Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said the Yerevan–London route is the airline’s ninth new route, with flights to a total of 18 new destinations across 10 countries planned as part of its expansion.

“We are very pleased to add London to our route network from Armenia. With each new expansion of our operations, we reaffirm our commitment to providing passengers with a wider selection of destinations and maximum travel comfort, while maintaining affordable fares and high flight reliability,” Novak said.

Armenia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan emphasized the broader diplomatic and societal significance of the new route, noting that direct flights would strengthen bilateral relations.

“These flights will facilitate connections among our citizens, strengthen interpersonal ties, and promote cooperation in tourism, education, culture, and business,” Nersesyan said, adding that the route reflects the deepening of Armenia–UK relations and opens new opportunities for further collaboration.

In parallel, Armenia will also gain direct flights to the Netherlands, “Armenia” International Airports CJSC reported.
