Yerevan has been recognized as one of the world’s top nightlife destinations, earning 7th place on a global list published by Condé Nast Traveler and compiled through an international study conducted by the digital entertainment platform JB, Armenia’s Tourism Committee announced.
The study analyzed cities worldwide using key nightlife indicators. It examined safety levels, nightlife density, the number of bars and pubs per 100 square kilometers, after-dark activities, average drink prices, venue ratings, and typical closing times. About 60 percent of travelers now choose destinations based on nightlife, highlighting the impact of after-dark culture on global travel trends.
The study described Armenia as an underdog in nightlife rankings, noting that the country is not usually the first to come to mind for after-dark culture. Despite that perception, Yerevan has built a strong reputation for its lively atmosphere, rooftop bars, outdoor lounges, and the tourist-favorite Wine Street. The city has a slightly higher nightlife density than neighboring Tbilisi, offering 33 bars and pubs and 48 nighttime activities per 100 square kilometers. It maintains an average venue rating of 4.47 and one of the world’s most affordable drink prices at $3.40, with most bars staying open until 4 a.m.
The Tourism Committee said, “Yerevan has been ranked among the world’s top cities for nightlife. Glowing streets and evenings wrapped in the smooth charm of wine and jazz, the very atmosphere that makes our city recognized as an irreplaceable nightlife destination.”
According to the JB study, the top ten nightlife cities in the world for 2025 are Barcelona in first place, followed by Paris, Tokyo, Prague, Tbilisi, Seoul, Yerevan in seventh, then Bangkok, Bali, and Budapest. These cities lead the global rankings based on venue density, affordability, and overall nightlife activity levels.
Five of the top ten nightlife cities are located in Europe, while the rest, including Yerevan, represent Asia and the Caucasus.
This recognition places Yerevan firmly on the global stage, underscoring the Armenian capital’s rise as a vibrant nightlife destination defined by authenticity, affordability, and a uniquely Armenian blend of lights, music, and energy.
