On October 2, Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, met with a delegation from Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) to discuss expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital policy.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of periodic discussions to address emerging challenges in the digital ecosystem. They highlighted the need to define practical steps aimed at strengthening resilience and building trust on online platforms.

Special attention was given to two key areas:

  1. The application of AI technologies for economic development, including opportunities to promote local innovation and business growth.
  2. Online safety for children, with a focus on the necessity of joint efforts to improve the digital literacy of both children and parents.

Hayrapetyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to deepening constructive cooperation with global tech leaders, underlining the importance of such partnerships within the framework of the country’s comprehensive digital transformation strategy.
