As of July 1, 2025, Armenia’s permanent population reached 3.084 million, marking an increase of 27,000 compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the Statistical Committee.

The figures show a notable demographic trend: while the urban population grew modestly by just over 1,000 people, rural areas saw a more substantial increase of 25,000. Currently, 1.974 million people reside in cities, while 1.109 million live in villages and rural communities.

Yerevan remains the country’s most populous city, with 1.143 million residents. Among its administrative districts, Malatia-Sebastia stands out as the most densely populated, home to 150,300 people, whereas Nubarashen remains the least populated district with 11,200 residents.

Among Armenia’s provinces, Kotayk holds the highest population count with 294,900 residents. In contrast, Vayots Dzor continues to be the least populated province, with just 49,400 inhabitants.
