His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia, will make an official visit to Los Angeles from October 22 to November 10, 2025, reports Zartonk Media.
The upcoming Pontifical Visit of His Holiness Aram I will mark the 30th anniversary of his enthronement, underscoring the deep and enduring ties between the Catholicosate and the Armenian community in California.
The announcement follows a private meeting held in Antelias on June 20 between His Holiness Aram I and H.E. Archbishop Kegham Khacherian, Prelate of the Western Prelacy of the United States, during the Prelate’s recent trip to the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. Following his return from Antelias, Archbishop Khacherian met with the Western Prelacy’s communications team to share important updates, noting that after several days of working meetings, he and His Holiness held a private discussion focused on matters concerning the Western Prelacy and the detailed plans for the upcoming pontifical visit to the region.
During the meeting, His Holiness Aram I emphasized the meaningful, dedicated, and active role the Western Prelacy has played—and continues to play—in advancing the mission of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. He also expressed his appreciation for the active participation of California Armenians in the spiritual and national programs and initiatives of the Armenian community. At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness Aram I extended his fatherly blessings and warm greetings to all the faithful members of the Western Prelacy, wishing them strength and continued success in their work, family life, community service, and church involvement, all in support of the Western Prelacy’s growth and progress.
