The Armenian Cabinet has approved the signing of a €50 million framework loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the Armenia: Resilient Syunik program, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and public services in the southern Syunik Province.
According to Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Davit Khudatyan, the program will be implemented in two main components. The first €25 million will be allocated to improving water supply systems in 55 communities across Syunik, while the remaining €25 million will fund the development of educational and healthcare infrastructure.
The funds will be used for the construction and renovation of schools, medical centers, and other public buildings, as well as for upgrading water supply networks and purchasing modern medical equipment. In addition, part of the financing will support energy efficiency measures across the region.
The Resilient Syunik initiative is part of a broader national strategy to promote balanced regional development and improve living conditions in border regions.
