For the first time, an Armenian woman, Yana Simonyan, will attend the United States Military Academy at West Point as a military cadet, becoming the first female Armenian to study at the prestigious institution, according to the U.S. Embassy in Armenia.

“Congratulations to Yana Simonyan on her acceptance to West Point – The U.S. Military Academy, Class of 2029! Yana will be the first female Armenian cadet to attend West Point,” the embassy announced.

“Her enrollment in this prestigious institution is a testament to her exceptional abilities and the growing partnership between the United States and Armenia. We wish Yana all the best as she embarks on this journey,” the statement added.
