Armenian Church Condemns ‘Western Azerbaijan’ Exhibition In Poland Aimed At Rewriting & Falsifying Armenian History As ‘Azerbaijani’ Or ‘Albanian’

NewsArmeniaArmenian Church Condemns ‘Western Azerbaijan’ Exhibition In Poland Aimed At Rewriting & Falsifying Armenian History As ‘Azerbaijani’ Or ‘Albanian’

The Armenian Church has strongly condemned the recent exhibition in Warsaw, Poland, titled, “Western Azerbaijan: In Our Cultural Memory,” organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Poland on April 8, 2025, reports Armenpress.

In a statement, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin said the exhibition was yet another manifestation of “Azerbaijan’s fake propaganda, which is the manifestation of Azerbaijan’s territorial claims against the Republic of Armenia and aspirations to appropriate the centuries-old spiritual and cultural heritage of the Armenian people.”

“Azerbaijan’s actions to rewrite history and attempts to misrepresent the Armenian settlements, holy sites and historical-cultural values in the territory of Armenia and Artsakh [Nagorno-Karabakh) as ‘Azerbaijani’ or ‘Albanian’ are strongly deplorable,” the Armenian Church said, adding that such condemnable initiatives not only don’t contribute to establishment of peace in the region but also nullify all steps for forming an atmosphere of peoples’ solidarity and peaceful co-existence.

“Culture ought to be a bridge between nations, not a tool for political greed,” it said.

The Armenian Church called on the international community, international organizations and diplomatic circles, as well as cultural organizations, to give a clear assessment to such falsifications committed against history and culture and strongly condemn such encroachments by Azerbaijan against the Armenian people.

Azerbaijan had organized a similar event in the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, attempting to advance its propaganda and distort historical facts about the Armenian cultural heritage in Armenia and Artsakh.
