Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry (MoD) has significantly intensified its disinformation campaign over the past four days, issuing 12 separate false ceasefire violation claims between March 16 and March 20, and a total of 13 fabricated claims this month.
These false allegations, aimed at creating a pretext for further escalation, all accuse Armenia of violating the ceasefire—claims that Armenia’s Defense Ministry has categorically denied.

Azerbaijan’s Disinformation as a Pretext for Aggression
Azerbaijan has repeatedly used fabricated claims to manufacture a false pretext for potential aggression, laying the groundwork for escalation despite Armenia’s commitment to peace.
Notably, Armenia fully accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals for the final two outstanding articles of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations on March 13—yet just days later, Azerbaijan launched this wave of false ceasefire allegations.
Armenia’s Call for Transparency, Azerbaijan’s Silence
To ensure transparency and prevent further escalations, Armenia has proposed the creation of a joint Armenian-Azerbaijani mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations. However, Azerbaijan has ignored this proposal, further raising doubts about its intentions.
Conclusion
With 12 fabricated ceasefire claims in just four days and 13 this month, Azerbaijan is deliberately escalating tensions while rejecting mechanisms for independent ceasefire verification.
Despite these provocations, Armenia remains committed to peace and has repeatedly sought transparency in ceasefire monitoring—an approach Azerbaijan refuses to engage in.
