Armenia’s Foreign Ministry has condemned Israel’s strikes against Iran last week, characterizing them as actions aimed at undermining international security.
“Armenia condemns activities aimed at undermining international security expressed also in the actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran last week. We are deeply concerned about developments in the wider region. We hope that diplomacy will enable protection of international law and prevention of further undesirable developments,” said Armenia’s Foreign Ministry on X (Twitter).
The condemnation follows Israel’s announcement that it had struck military sites in Iran on the night of October 26 in response to a massive missile attack launched by Tehran on October 1. According to Iranian media, multiple explosions were reported over several hours in Tehran and at nearby military bases, beginning shortly after 2 a.m. local time, with Iran’s military asserting that its air defense systems countered Israel’s strikes, limiting damage in targeted areas in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces. Israel’s public broadcaster confirmed that three waves of strikes had been completed by dawn.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) described the airstrikes as “precise and targeted,” reportedly aimed solely at military facilities, including a missile production site, while avoiding any nuclear or oil production sites. Iranian sources confirmed that four officers and one civilian lost their lives in the strikes, underscoring the seriousness of this escalation.
This exchange marks the latest escalation in an ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, with both sides trading retaliatory attacks and raising concerns of a potential all-out war.
