On September 5, Azerbaijani authorities intensified their fake news campaign targeting Armenia, once again falsely accusing the Armenian military of cross-border shootings on both September 4 and 5.
These unfounded allegations were immediately refuted by Armenia’s Defense Ministry (MoD).
In its latest accusation, Azerbaijan alleged that Armenian forces fired at Azerbaijani positions in the eastern border region at 9:55 a.m. Armenia’s MoD firmly denied the accusation, stating that it “does not correspond to reality.”
The September 4 and 5 allegations are just the latest in Azerbaijan’s ongoing disinformation campaign aimed at escalating tensions and destabilizing the region.

The Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia has proposed establishing a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and related incidents, to which Azerbaijan has yet to respond.
