Sicilian-Armenian chef Julia Sedefdjian’s Baieta restaurant in Paris has once again been awarded a Michelin star.
Sedefdjian was born in Nice to an Armenian father and a Sicilian mother. She is believed to be the youngest chef in France, having received her first Michelin star at the age of 21 in 2016.
In 2012, she moved to Paris and began working at Les Fables de La Fontaine, a Michelin-starred restaurant. She became the restaurant’s sous-chef in 2013 and then the head chef in 2015, when she was just 20 years old. Julia retained her Michelin star after completely revamping the menu and halving the prices of her dishes.
In 2018, Julia opened her own restaurant, Baieta, in Paris, serving excellent classics of Nice cuisine. Baieta received its first Michelin star in 2019, just 10 months after opening.
