Armenian students have won three bronze medals and two letters of commendation at the 54th International Physics Olympiad held in Isfahan, Iran, from July 21-29.

Over 200 high school students from over 45 countries competed in this prestigious physics competition.

The names of the students and their respective awards are as follows:
* Arsen Aghayan, 12th grade, PhysMath Special School – Bronze Medal
* Narek Galstyan, 11th grade, PhysMath Special School – Bronze Medal
* Artyom Gasparyan, 12th grade, High School of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia – Bronze Medal
* Narek Movsisyan, 12th grade, PhysMath Special School – Letter of Commendation
* Armen Gazazyan, 12th grade, High School of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia – Letter of Commendation

The Armenian team was led by Bilor Kurghinyan and Mekhak Hayrapetyan, teachers of the special physics school after A. Shahinyan, and Alfred Petrosyan, a physics teacher at the high school of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. Alfred Petrosyan also participated as an observer.

At the previous 53rd International Physics Olympiad held in Japan, the Armenian team won one silver and four bronze medals.
