NewsArtsakhRussian Peacekeepers Begin Withdrawal From Occupied Artsakh

Russia has begun the withdrawal of its peacekeepers from occupied Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), confirms Dmitry Peskov, the Press Secretary of the Russian President.

“Yes, it is true,” said the Kremlin Spokesman when asked to comment on Azerbaijani media reports on peacekeepers’ withdrawal. A video of a convoy of Russian military equipment passing through the Azerbaijani-occupied Artsakh appeared in the Azerbaijani media on Tuesday.

According to reports, the first personnel and military equipment of the Russian peacekeeping contingent left the Armenian Dadivank Monastery in the occupied Karvachar region a few days ago. Azerbaijani state employees currently oversee the monastery.

The Russian Peacekeepers were deployed in Artsakh and along the Berdzor (Lachin) Corridor under the November 9 Trilateral Statement of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
