On March 24, the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new office in Brussels, reports the EAFJD.

The inauguration ceremony was a testament to the unity and support of the Armenian community in Europe. It was graced by the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Evelina Sarian and their family, whose generous donation made the acquisition of the EAFJD office possible. The event was also attended by numerous esteemed guests, including long-standing EAFJD benefactors Raffi Arslanian and Atom Tenjoukian, the Chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the President of the Central Board of Armenian National Committees Hagop Der Khatchadourian, Deputy Head of Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union, Mr. Vardan Sargsyan, Belgian MPs, journalists, public figures, and the representatives of the Armenian communities of Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Netherlands, Romania and the United Kingdom.

The official inauguration commenced with the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Mike and Evelina Sarians, alongside the Chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the President of the Central Board of Armenian National Committees, Hagop Der Khatchadourian, and the EAFJD President, Kaspar Karampetian. This symbolized support for the EAFJD’s mission and collaborative efforts. The ceremony was followed by a reception during which speeches were delivered, reflecting on the occasion’s significance and expressing gratitude to all who contributed to EAFJD’s work.

The participants conveyed their well-wishes for the EAFJD’s future endeavors, emphasizing its essential role in advocating for the Armenian cause.

Mr. Sarian, reflecting on the occasion, stated: “It is really a great honor to dedicate the office of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy in Brussels in memory of our father, Yerjanik Sarian. ‘Yerjanik,’ which means ‘happy’ in Armenian, embodies our wish for this office to be a source of happiness for all Armenians committed to advancing the Armenian cause worldwide and, particularly in Europe. We wish great success to the staff of EAFJD and the members of our community, hoping for more achievements in these bleak days we are facing as Armenians and Armenia.”

The President of the EAFJD, Kaspar Karampetian, expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Mike Sarian and his family, remarking, “We are deeply thankful to Mr. Sarian and his family for their remarkable generosity. It is indeed an honor that our office carries the name of the late Yerjanik Sarian. This office symbolizes a home for all of us, dedicated to serving the Armenian people and advancing the Armenian cause. We remain steadfast to this purpose.”

The inauguration of the new office is a significant milestone for the EAFJD, marking a new chapter in its mission to advance Armenian statehood and advocate for the fundamental rights of the indigenous people of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on the European level. This step forward instills hope and optimism for the future of the Armenian cause in Europe.
