Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia regrets the decision of Armenia to hold Armenian-American military exercises and added that he does not think it is good for anyone, including Armenia.

“Certainly, there is nothing good in the fact that an aggressive NATO country is trying to penetrate Transcaucasia. I don’t think it is good for anyone, including Armenia,” he said.

“The Americans have hundreds of bases in the world, wherever they appear, it does not lead to anything good anywhere. At best, they sit quietly there, but often they try to subjugate everything to them, including political processes,” Lavrov said.

On September 11, the Eagle Partner 2023 Armenian-American joint military exercise will start in Armenia. The goal of the exercise is to increase the level of interoperability of units participating in international peacekeeping missions within the framework of peacekeeping operations, to exchange management and tactical communication best practices, as well as to increase the readiness of the Armenian unit for NATO/GCC.
