Earlier today, the California State Senate passed Turkey Divestment Bill with a vote of 35-0, informs the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region.

Senate Bill 457 was introduced by Senator Anthony Portantino and Senator Scott Wilk and requires that California Public Employees’ Retirement System and California State Teachers’ Retirement System  boards allow school districts and cities to opt out of investment vehicles issued or owned by the Turkey

The ANCA-WR thanked the Senators for introducing the bill and all those who played a role in its passage.
