On April 28, U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, informs the U.S. State Department Spokesperson Ned Price in a statement.

Secretary Blinken underscored the importance of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms along with discussing a range of issues with President Aliyev.

The Secretary noted the importance of continuing efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to negotiate a lasting political settlement to the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict benefiting all people in the region.
