Earlier Today, Armenia defeated Iceland 2-0 within the framework of the 2022 World Cup qualifying round at Yerevan’s Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, midfielder Tigran Barseghyan opened the score in the 53rd minute with a precise shot into the far left corner of Iceland net. Substitute Khoren Bayramyan doubled the score with a beautiful goal in the 74th minute.

The victory comes three days after Armenia beat Lichtenstein 1-0 in an away match. Armenia currently tops Group J with six points, and is set to face Romania in Yerevan on March 31.
