On Wednesday, January 15 at around 4:30 p.m., Private of the Armenian Armed Forces Artur Mezhlumyan was wounded by Azerbaijani cross-border sniper fire near a military post located in the northeast.

The serviceman was immediately transferred to Yerevan, where he was hospitalized and is now in critical health condition. An investigation into the details of the incident are underway. According to preliminary information, the serviceman was wounded by a Dragunov sniper rifle.

Another Armenian soldier, Private Artur Arzumanyan was wounded in Azerbaijan’s cross-border shooting on January 11.

Also, the Azerbaijani military attempted engineering work along the border near the Armenian province of Tavush on January 7. The Armenian side, however, stopped the process with warning shots.
