A huge fire has broken out near the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan. The cause of the fire is yet to be investigated, per News.Am.

“The fire broke out due to fireworks,” said Feliks Tsolakyan, Armenia’s Minister of Emergency Situations. The fire broke out in the grassy area near the premises of the Karen Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex right by Tsitsernakaberd.

“Fireworks at restaurants are a serious problem for the city,” said  Hakob Karapetyan, Mayor of Yerevan.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that 20 firefighting squads have arrived at the scene of the incident and are trying to put the fire out.
