Today, the Republic of Armenia confirmed 697 new coronavirus cases and 6 new deaths, on Wednesday, June 3, taking the total number of cases to 10,009, per Armenia’s Ministry of Health.

Out of the 11,221 total cases, 3,468 people recovered (14 Today) and 176 patients with underlying health conditions died. The remaining 7,509 are active cases, per Alina Nikoghosyan, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. To date, 63,459 negative coronavirus tests have been conducted in Armenia, added Nikoghosyan.

The 171st – 176th fatalities were 44 (female), 90 (male), 80 (female), 79 (female), 80 (male) and 66 (female) years old. Besides the last one, all had pre-existing chronic diseases.

Today, Armenia ranked 21st in the world in the amount of new coronavirus cases, and 33rd in the world in the amount of new deaths, per Worldometers.

Today, Health Minister Arsen Torosyan announced that there are 391 patients are in serious condition, 59 are in critical condition, 15 are switched to ventilators. There is also a dangerous trend that again cases are being registered in various factories and workshops. This shows that an outbreak is again possible. Therefore, following the rules is very important.

He added that the situation of daily hospitalizations remains tense. “As an example I would note that 15-20% of the confirmed cases needs to be hospitalized”, he said, adding that the number of cases should be reduced in order to be capable to treat the patients in hospital beds.
