Today’s trial session of former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and his co-defendants, all charged with usurping state power in 2008, was postponed.

Kocharyan is still being treated at Yerevan’s Izmirlian Medical Center after undergoing surgery.

Due to medical privacy laws in Armenia, no specifics regarding Kocharyan’s medical condition have been released.

Inessa Petrosyan, the attorney representing Armenian former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Erik Aleksanyan, the attorney representing former Armenian National Security Council Secretary Armen Gevorgyan, urged presiding Judge Anna Danibekyan to reschedule the trial given the recent uptick in confirmed Covid-19 cases in Armenia.

The other co-defendant is former Armenian Deputy Minister of Defense Yuri Khachaturov.

All have declared their innocence and have charged the Pashinyan government with conducting a political witch-hunt against them.
