President Trump Says U.S. “Worked Magic” On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Peace Deal “Pretty Close, If Not Already Done”

NewsArmeniaPresident Trump Says U.S. “Worked Magic” On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Peace Deal “Pretty Close, If Not Already Done”

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan are “pretty close” to reaching a peace deal, while speaking at a White House dinner with Republican senators on Friday evening.

Trump highlighted his administration’s role in resolving international conflicts and also mentioned Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the U.S. has “worked magic there.”

“Armenia and Azerbaijan, we worked magic there. And, it’s pretty close. If not, it’s already done,” Trump said.

Last week, on July 14, U.S. President Trump made similar remarks during a press conference at the White House following his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte: “And we’ve solved another one. One that we just seem to have, Armenia and Azerbaijan. It looks like that’s going to come to a conclusion, a successful conclusion.”

He made the comment while listing international conflicts where he said U.S. diplomacy played a decisive role, implying that the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process had benefited from the same strategic approach.
