Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili issued congratulatory messages to Nikol Pashinyan on Sunday, before Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission had released any official results.

The first official results came at midnight Yerevan time, drawn from 110 polling stations. With 19,654 votes counted, a fraction of the 1,476,597 cast nationwide, Pashinyan’s Civil Contract led with 57 percent, followed by Samvel Karapetyan’s Strong Armenia at 21.4 percent, Robert Kocharyan’s Armenia Alliance at 8.2 percent, and Gagik Tsarukyan’s Prosperous Armenia at 5.1 percent.

Both Georgian leaders posted well before those figures were published. Zourabichvili was first, writing on X at around 9:00 p.m.: “Warmest congratulations to Nikol Pashinyan! Today, Armenia firmly chose a free, independent & European future. This historic vote reinforces democracy and solidifies our region’s place in the family of European nations.”

Kobakhidze followed at around 11:00 p.m., writing: “Heartfelt congratulations to PM Nikol Pashinyan on his party’s success in the elections. Looking forward to continuing our close cooperation to strengthen the strategic partnership and friendly relations between Georgia and Armenia for the prosperity of our nations.”

Counting is ongoing, and the Central Electoral Commission is expected to release preliminary nationwide results in the coming hours.
