YouTube announced that its Partner Program will go live in Armenia this spring, opening monetization for creators in the country for the first time, a move expected to strengthen Armenia’s digital economy, support local talent, and expand the global visibility of Armenian content, culture, and innovation.
Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, welcomed the development, calling it a significant milestone for the country’s digital ecosystem. “We welcome YouTube’s announcement on expanding its engagement in the Armenian market,” he said.
“This is an important step for strengthening Armenia’s digital economy, empowering our fast-growing community of creators, and supporting global visibility of Armenian content, culture, and innovation. For Armenia, platforms like YouTube are not only about content, they are about economic opportunity, digital entrepreneurship, and strengthening societal resilience against disinformation through diverse and authentic voices,” the minister said.
He added that the Ministry of High-Tech Industry will continue collaborating with global partners to ensure Armenian creators and technology companies are fully integrated into the worldwide digital landscape.
“We look forward to building on this momentum together with our U.S. partners and deepening cooperation with YouTube and the broader technology community,” Hayrapetyan noted.
With monetization now available, Armenian creators can generate revenue from their work, encouraging innovative content production and expanding Armenia’s presence on global digital platforms.
