Armenian-American writer Taleen Voskuni will release Our Ex’s Wedding, a new romantic comedy from Berkley, on January 20, 2026, centering an Armenian love story in California wine country, where a wedding planner and a winery owner are forced to work together on their mutual ex’s wedding, a setup Voskuni says she wrote because “I wanted Armenians to see themselves at the center of a love story… the type of epic, joyful, and fully realized romance that we deserve.”
In Our Ex’s Wedding, Ani Avakian is determined to redeem herself professionally by taking on a high-stakes wedding job, only to find herself partnering with Raffi Garabedian, a vineyard owner she cannot stand, as complications mount around the event and tensions rise between the two.
Early trade coverage has highlighted the book’s rom-com energy, including flirty banter, a fast-moving plot, and a wedding planning storyline filled with escalating obstacles.
Voskuni is an award-winning writer who grew up in the Bay Area Armenian diaspora. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English and currently lives in San Francisco, working in tech. Other than a newfound obsession with writing rom-coms, she spends her free time cultivating her kids, her garden, and her dark chocolate addiction.
Her first novel, Sorry, Bro, received starred reviews from Kirkus and Booklist, was named an Amazon editor’s pick, and was favorably reviewed in The New York Times. Sorry, Bro is also winner of the 2023 Golden Poppy award for best romance. She is also the author of Lavash at First Sight and her latest, Our Ex’s Wedding.
“I wrote Our Ex’s Wedding because I wanted Armenians to see themselves at the center of a love story, to get the type of epic, joyful, and fully realized romance that we deserve. I’ve always been a writer, even as a child, but it wasn’t until I began writing Armenian characters that my stories truly found their voice, and publishing took notice, too,” said Taleen Voskuni.
