Armenia has reached an agreement to hold a major exhibition at the Acropolis featuring artifacts from the History Museum of Armenia, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan announced Tuesday, noting the show is expected to be organized in cooperation with the Berlin Museum.
Addressing questions about cultural tourism initiatives, Andreasyan pointed to the large-scale success of Jennifer Lopez’s concert in Yerevan, which drew more than 15,000 foreign visitors. She said authorities are planning to build on that success by organizing another major event involving an international star, though she did not disclose further details.
Responding to questions regarding the financial return to the state budget from the concert, Andreasyan did not provide a specific figure, noting that the economic impact is still under analysis.
The minister also spoke positively about the performance of Armenia’s museums during the New Year holidays. She reported that more than 700 visitors attended the four museums that remained open on January 1 and 2.
In addition, Andreasyan provided updates on the ongoing restoration of Armenia’s historical and architectural monuments, including churches.
