Arman Tsarukyan and Shara Bullet Draw in Hype FC Grappling Main Event in Yerevan, Armenia

NewsArmeniaArman Tsarukyan and Shara Bullet Draw in Hype FC Grappling Main Event in Yerevan, Armenia

On December 30, the Hype FC event in Yerevan, Armenia, culminated with a draw between Arman Tsarukyan and Sharabutdin “Shara Bullet” Magomedov in the main event grappling match at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. The bout lasted six minutes and ended without a submission under the match rules.

Tsarukyan, UFC’s No. 1 contender in the lightweight division, lifted Magomedov and slammed him in the center of the ring.

Prior to their grappling match, Tsarukyan and Magomedov agreed to a bet: if Magomedov won, Tsarukyan would gift him an apartment in Armenia, and if Tsarukyan won, Magomedov would gift him a Rolex.

The card was primarily bare-knuckle, except for the main event grappling match. The event opened with two bare-knuckle bouts, in which Arman Tsarukyan (not to be confused with the UFC contender) defeated Haskil Amirkhanov by knockout.

In the second bout, Armenian fighter Armen Ataev, making his bare-knuckle debut, defeated Isa Alibekov by unanimous decision after three rounds.

Following these fights, the bare-knuckle action continued as both Vage Sarukhanyan and Edgar Oganesyan defeated Gadzhi Makhdiev and Khochbar Dakaev, respectively, by unanimous decision after three rounds.

After that, Aziz Kamalov defeated Khamzat Khadimuratov by unanimous decision after three rounds, and Abdumalik Abbi won by knockout in the first round against Maxim Soloviev.

Following those contests, Roman Kalashyan defeated Suleyman Makhmadov after Makhmadov withdrew in the second round due to an eye injury.

David Khachatryan went on to defeat Abubakar Mamedov by knockout in the second round. In addition, Gennadiy Makaryan defeated Shamil Gasanbekov by knockout in the first round.

The final fight preceding the main event resulted in Lendrush Akopyan’s victory over Amirkhan Oyev by unanimous decision.
