Armenian wrestler Gaspar Terteryan (72 kg) captured the gold medal at the 2025 U20 World Wrestling Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria, competing in the Greco-Roman division, reports Zartonk Media, citing the Armenian Wrestling Federation.

In the final, Terteryan defeated Uzbekistan’s Ahmad Kodirov. The match ended in a 1–1 tie, but Terteryan triumphed on last-point advantage, delivering an outstanding performance to claim the world title and become U20 World Champion.

At the start of the tournament, he defeated Azerbaijan’s Seymur Gasimov 6–2 in the qualification round, before overcoming Kazakhstan’s Yussuf Ashrapov 3–1 in the Round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Terteryan outclassed Bulgaria’s Sergey Nikolaev Stoev 7–1, and in the semifinals, he secured a decisive 5–1 victory against Greece’s Arionas Kolitsopoulos, advancing to the final.
