100 forcibly displaced children from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), ages 6 to 15, participated in a one-week summer camp in Zánka, Hungary, according to Armenia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The children, who have now returned home, were accompanied by 38 specialists—including social workers, psychologists, and teachers—from regional administrations and municipalities, ensuring they received care and guidance throughout the program.
During the camp, the children enjoyed a variety of educational and leisure activities, along with sports and intellectual games designed to help them learn, connect, and heal in a supportive environment.
The initiative, launched last year through cooperation between the Armenian and Hungarian governments, is coordinated by Armenia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. This year’s program was carried out in partnership with the Kotayk Regional Administration and the charity organization “Caritas Armenia.”
The program is ongoing and aims to provide summer camp opportunities for around 1,000 displaced children, giving them a chance to build friendships, grow, and experience moments of joy despite the challenges they have faced.
