The Los Angeles Kings have issued an apology to the Los Angeles Armenian community after it was discovered that scarves distributed during Armenian Heritage Night were made in Turkey. The Kings stated they were unaware of the scarves’ production origin, as they source their merchandise from a select list of manufacturers officially licensed by the league. They apologized for the negative impact this oversight had on the celebratory experience of Armenian Heritage Night for the community. Acknowledging the gravity of the oversight, the team has announced options for refunds or exchanges to address the community’s concerns.
The statement from the LA Kings, Rank + Rally, and the TEAM LA Store reads as follows:
“We, the LA Kings and our partners at Rank & Rally, want to sincerely apologize to all our friends in the Armenian Community and beyond for the oversight that may have inadvertently impacted your experience during what should’ve been a joyous celebration. We source, stock, and sell merchandise from a select list of manufacturers that are officially licensed by the league, and we were unaware of the item’s production origin.
The TEAM LA Store will honor a full refund or exchange for anyone who purchased the scarf through the following two methods:
- In-Person at the TEAM LA Store:Â The store is open Monday through Sunday from 10am – 6pm and during LA Kings games.
- Shipping: For those unable to return/exchange the scarf in-person, please email support@teamlastore.com, and we will provide a pre-paid shipping label for the return and refund. Thank you for your support.”
