The Armenian Defense Ministry has dismissed the reports claiming that Armenia has signed a $500 million arms deal with Iran, calling it “fictitious and invented.”

“We do not respond to publications with imaginary, invented content,” said Aram Torosyan, Press Secretary of Armenia’s Defense Ministry (MoD), when addressing an inquiry from Armenpress on the matter.

The MoD’s comments come after Iran International website published an article in which it claimed that Iran and Armenia had signed a secret major arms deal worth $500 million.
