During the meeting of EU foreign ministers held in Spain, among many issues, the situation in Artsakh and the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan’s blocking of the Lachin Corridor were also discussed.During the press conference held after the meeting of foreign ministers, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Joseph Borrell called on the Azerbaijani authorities to ensure safe and free movement through the Lachin Corridor.“We call on the Azerbaijani authorities to ensure safe and free movement through the Lachin Corridor,” Borrell said. For the context, the Azerbaijanis have closed the Lachin Corridor since December 12, 2022. On July 26, RA sent a convoy with 400 tons of humanitarian aid to Artsakh. 19 trucks of humanitarian aid going from Yerevan to Artsakh are still in the border area of “‹”‹Kornidzor, and the trucks with humanitarian cargo sent by Paris and France have also been added to them. Two trucks headed by the Azerbaijan Red Crescent on the Aghdam road to Artsakh reached the Aghdam-Stepanakert road. Baku announced that these trucks contained 40 tons of flour for the residents of Stepanakert. According to Azerbaijani mass media, they are negotiating with Russian peacekeepers and have set up tents on the road. The people of Artsakh are categorically against that option and declare that they will not accept cargo through that route.
