Russian Senator: Russia Will Defend Armenia’s Borders As Its Own, I Do Not Advise Anyone To Test It.

Russia will defend Armenia’s recognized borders as its own, since both countries are member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), said Russian Senator Andrei Klimov and member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Federation Council, informs Sputnik.

According to him, Russia’s military doctrine is designed in such a way that, while protecting itself and its allies, the country can resist “all the rest combined,” and not just one of the NATO members. And everyone who needs it knows this, the Russian politician believes.

“We, of course, are interested in all sorts of situations. We have specialists who understand this … But what I said is crucial. I would not advise anyone to check how it all might look (in reality – ed.)” – added the senator.

Klimov is sure that such a “test” will not end well for anyone, colleagues and partners in Ankara are well aware of this. At the same time, Russia would not like to multiply the problems that are already lacking. That is why, according to him, Moscow is trying to follow the principle of “do no harm.”

Recall that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey have recently sharply increased the frequency of joint military exercises, including on the border with Armenia. In addition, a special command group has been created , which will represent the Turkish Armed Forces in Azerbaijan. The mission included four Turkish generals. The group will be led by the chief of the operational unit of the ground forces of Turkey, Major General Bakhtiyar Ersay.
