DiasporaAmericasCHW: Armenian Church In Occupied Artsakh's Martuni Under Threat Of Destruction.

The Holy Mother of God church (St. Astvatsatsin) in the village of Taghavard in occupied Artsakh’s Martuni is under threat, reports Caucasus Heritage Watch.

Between June 10 and July 12, the western part of the village was bulldozed, and the destruction zone extends to edge of the church. The basilica was built in 1840.

Architectural details can be found at Monument Watch. CHW calls on Azerbaijani authorities to save this Armenian church. We urge international agencies, governments, and the public to call for its preservation.
