On May 13, Azerbaijani Armed Forces carried out a new provocation against Armenia under the pretext of “border adjustments,” trying to ensure positional advance in the border areas of Syunik’s Vardenis and Sisian, reports the Defense Ministry of Armenia.

In both cases, as a result of the actions of the Armenian Armed Forces, the enemy advance was stopped, the Azerbaijani side was demanded to leave the territory immediately and return to their starting positions.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense describes these actions taken by Azerbaijan since May 12 as an open provocation, in order to avoid unpredictable developments, urges the armed forces of that country to return to their starting positions immediately, to refrain from encroachments on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.
