Today, PM Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia will hold early snap parliamentary elections on June 20, following a meeting with Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” faction.

“I just met with with the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” faction Gagik Tsarukyan a while ago. During our meeting we stated that the best way out of the current internal political situation is the early parliamentary elections. Taking into account the discussions I had with the President of the Republic of Armenia, with the “My Step” faction, Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the “Bright Armenia” party, on June 20 of this year special parliamentary elections will be held in the Republic of Armenia.”

Today, MP Edmon Marukyan announced that martial law will be lifted in the coming days.

He said in a Facebook post that “I have stated that June 20, 2021, as a day of extraordinary parliamentary elections, is acceptable for us.”

Today, MP Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the “Prosperous Armenia” party said the following in a statement, it runs as follows,

“A few days ago, I announced that in order to get our homeland out of the current difficult situation, a new government, must be formed in the country as soon as possible. The only legitimate way to do that is through snap parliamentary elections. The people must decide by their vote who the next government will trust.

Extraordinary parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia on June 20.
